One of the most common questions we get asked here at Red Door is, “Why ‘Red Door’?”
Well, the background for painting a door red is varied, and carries many connotations. By far the most common; ranging in traditions from early American, to Feng Shui, to the churches of the Protestant Reformation; is the concept of “welcome.” Warm and inviting are words often associated with this concept as well.
In the early American tradition, a red door was a sign of welcome for the weary traveler. A place where one could find safety, and rest in comfort. The genesis of Red Door as a company was rooted in the belief that everyone should be able to find a quality exterior cleaning company, who would make their home that place of comfort and rest. When our owner Jonathan wasn’t able to find a company that would provide that for him, he built one himself.
Most homeowners barely have time these days to relax for a meal when they get home. It’s our mission to provide hassle-free services that make your home look amazing again so you can spend your free time doing what you love to do, not wrestling with a pressure washer (or Christmas lights) and a ladder.
It’s not our ultimate goal to leave you with a clean house and roof (or a superb lighting display), but to make your home that place where you can come home at the end of a busy day to enjoy that feeling of warmth, safety, and rest with your family. We’ll just do those other things along the way.
We aim for every Red Door client to become a member of our Red Door family. It’s about building trusted relationships with our clients, community, and the world around us. Our core principles of faith, family, and stewardship of all that is entrusted to us govern what we do. We can’t think of a better way to do business, and if we’re successful, we will rest easy knowing that our Red Door family is able to rest easy!
So that’s the story behind the “Red Door” in Red Door Pro Wash. Any other questions?
