Parking
John Lee Pratt was a businessman from Stafford County who helped preserve historic Chatham Manor, which is now part of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park. He also bequeathed a portion of the property to the local community, which is now Pratt Park.
This park offers tons of ball fields, disc golf, hiking, play grounds, pavillions, and best of all a starting location for the new Fredericksburg City Trail system linking many parks around town with the Rappahannock River singletrack trails and canal path to downtown.
Parking is available on the weekends and Mondays in a paved lot along King Street. There are also a few handicap parking spots along the walking path, but it can be difficult to find a spot during organized events or when the ball fields are in use.
Disc Golf

John Lee Pratt Park is a beautiful park with a walking path. This paved walk is about 1 mile and is in a nice quiet area that’s not too far from downtown Fredericksburg.
It’s a good spot to take the kids or just have a picnic! The park has tons of ball fields, disc golf, pavillions and the best part is that it’s a starting point for the new City Trail.
Stafford County is currently working on a trail extension that will run from the park, below Chatham Manor and along the Rappahannock River to its endpoint at Chatham Bridge. This will be a great addition to the existing Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail and is scheduled to be completed in September. This new trail will connect to the existing 1.92 miles of trail that runs between Gari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont and Pratt Park, making it an outstanding network for pedestrians and bicyclists!
